Determined. Devoted.
Byne’s team makes the difference.
Beyond technology, curriculum, furnishings, or certain techniques, teachers are the most significant resource and vital relationship. Byne has a dedicated teaching staff, who loves the Lord, feels called to what they do, and loves the students and families they serve.
Mark Jackson
Head of School
“As a product of Christian education, my life was forever changed by parents who discipled me and teachers who were always pointing towards Christ. Byne Christian School has provided a robust experience for my family through healthy friendships, Christ-centered classrooms, and student life.”

Pastor Mark worked in commercial real estate development prior to his entry into ministry. For the past 18 years, he has served churches with Christian schools which has shaped his passion for discipleship through education. You will find his wife, Lyndsay, volunteering throughout the school and his three children, Jordyn, Blake and Braxton, walking the halls as students. He supports our administrative team provides additional connection to local churches, ministries, organizations.
John Howard
Dean of Students/Technology Coordinator
“As a parent, the older your kids get, the more you realize the impact of the thousands of hours they spend in a classroom and extracurricular activities. This realization fueled the drive to make a difference in the lives of my children as well as others.”
-
A 1996 Byne graduate, John enjoyed being a part of basketball, track, and photography/journalism. After graduation, he pursued a successful career in various marketing and creative roles, with experience working in ad agencies, publishing, and downtown development, while also mentoring interns along the way.
Working with young athletes is a favorite pastime for John. Over the past decade, he has coached numerous youth basketball and baseball teams, as well as spending three years coaching middle school basketball in the Lee County school system.
John's wife, Jessica, is also a Byne graduate. They have two sons together, Luke and Liam. The family are active members of Life Church, where they serve in Worship, AV, and Life Littles ministries.
John has come full circle, returning to his alma mater to share his expertise with the next generation of students.

Academic Administrator
“We are pioneers reimagining classical Christian education at Byne Christian School. We are in an awesome building & growing phase, continually learning and being inspired as God leads us to train students to know, honor, and worship Him in all aspects of life, and to see His handiwork in every subject taught.”
-
Amy Haynes joined the BCS staff in 2021 as the Hybrid Director, and worked diligently with Mr. Wise to develop and implement the two-day program. Mrs. Haynes homeschooled her children, Sadie and Caleb, for eleven years using the classical Christian pedagogy. In addition, she has worked for 13 years in youth ministry with her husband, Bryan, who is the pastor to students at Gillionville Baptist Church. Having been burdened to see young people know and grow in the love and joy of the Lord (beyond the limited number of hours they gather at church), she felt that being a part of the development of the two-day program was a tremendous discipleship opportunity. Mrs. Haynes believes the two-day model is a perfect fit for many in our community who desire the quality time homeschooling provides but who also want an excellent education with accountability and programming access. Mrs. Haynes holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Georgia.
“It has been amazing to see the Lord open doors and make the path straight for beginning this new educational opportunity. There is an energy among the staff, students and parents in knowing we are pioneers reimagining classical Christian education at Byne Christian School. We are in an awesome building & growing phase, continually learning and being inspired as God leads.”
